Backyard Naturalists Wiki
Welcome to the Backyard Naturalists Wiki! We’ve created this site for young naturalists who want to learn more about the world around us and share their discoveries with friends at home and around the world. Each Backyard Naturalists program will have its own special section within the wiki, which will feature beautiful, <a href="http://www.meetyourneighbours.net/" target="_blank">Meet Your Neighbour</a><a href="http://www.meetyourneighbours.net/" target="_blank">s</a> style images of wild plants and animals found within the community where the program is being held.  BYN participants will also have an opportunity to upload their own photos and create pages showcasing their favorite discoveries

Our Mission

The mission of Backyard Naturalists is to inspire a lifelong appreciation of the natural world in children through educational programming that integrates science, art, and technology. The program has been developed through a partnership between The Highlands Biological Foundation and Meet Your Neighbours, an international nature photography project designed to help people to learn more about the wildlife in their own community. Backyard Naturalists is made possible through the generous support of The Eckerd Family Foundation, which provides leadership and support for innovative educational, preventative, therapeutic and rehabilitative programs for children, youth and their families.
